Elke Reichow, who looks back on an impressive career with over 40 years of experience in childcare, is retiring. Elke Reichow, who has been working in childcare since 1981, has experienced ups and downs over the years. The time after the turn was particularly formative when many things changed. But her heart always hit the daycare center and she never wanted to work elsewhere. The children still feel this passion and dedication today, many of them still call them "Aunt Elke". With a smile she says that she is now happy with her family and grandchildren for a time.

During the celebrations, the children of the daycare center presented a very special memorial: a handmade garden bench with colorful handprints, which for many is a symbol of their time together. Mayor Jörn Muranko, himself a former daycare visitor, paid tribute to Elke Reichow in his speech and at the same time fought against tears. He announced that Vanessa Glöde will succeed as a KATELEITER to continue working in the sense of Elke Reichow.
