Greifswald celebrates 775 years with a colorful MV day: a festival of diversity!

Greifswald, Deutschland - in Greifswald on June 20, 2025, the big celebration for the MV day is in full swing. With the motto "Tradition, Innovation and Diversity", not only 775 years of city history, but also the 35th anniversary of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is celebrated. On the three festive days, from June 20th to 22nd, visitors can expect exciting events and numerous adventure areas that transform the city center into a living festival.

As early as 11 a.m., the NDR Vorpommernstudio on Knopfstrasse offers an exciting program with studio and technology tours as well as information on the diverse NDR programs. If you want to secure special memories, you will also find a photo stand there. The little guests should be particularly pleased about the visit of Ernie and Bert as well as other Kika figures who contribute to interactive entertainment.

On Friday evening, a warm-up party starts at 7 p.m. and a concert by the band Marquess at 9 p.m. The festive day starts on Saturday with the opening at 11 a.m., accompanied by a performance by the State Police Orchestra MV. Later in the evening the big MV day party follows with a concert by Joris.

The Sunday is no less marked by great music: an opening concert with the State Police Orchestra MV is planned, followed by the official opening by Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig and Mayor Dr. Stefan Fassbinder. From 1 p.m., small fans have the opportunity to experience Kika-Live with popular characters, while from 7:30 p.m. the MV Day party with NDR 1 is in full swing. The crowning glory is a concert by 4fun and another appearance of Joris on Sunday evening.

Low delimitations have been removed and there are special disabled parking spaces and a ramp on the main stage for wheelchair users. Although the festival is in full bloom, there was a recent security incident when a twelve -year -old boy jumped into the Baltic Sea despite the red flag and was fortunately saved. This is an important note for all visitors who are at the harbor: security always has a priority.
