Kulturfloss Elde Ahoi: 14 days full of music and theater along the Elde!
There is an exciting reason to celebrate in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, as the cultural raft Elde will soon be setting sail! From June 27th to July 10th, 2025, this innovative project by the Circus Schwerin association will bring culture to lesser-noticed places. The tour covers a total of 14 days and stops at 13 different stations along the Elde to present music and theater.
The kick-off will take place on June 27th at 7 p.m. in the multi-generation house in Lübz, where the folk musician Leon stuff presented a rousing program together with the Eldeblasorchester. All events are free; the hat is passed around, symbolic of support for the artists.
Unique artists and places
The culture raft brings together a colorful mix of artists: In addition to Leonzeug, who will perform at the Schwerin-Mueß open-air museum on July 2nd, the singer-songwriter will be there Kaddatz for musical highlights. The Tur Tur Theater will also make its contribution. The scheduled duration for the performances is approximately two hours, and the performances are always at 7 p.m.
The venues are diverse and range from idyllic places such as the “Eldeblick” riverside camp in Neuburg to the fishing club in Banzkow to the old paper factory in Neu Kaliß and the water hiking rest area in Burow. For many of these places, this is a great opportunity to connect local communities through art.
New momentum through funding
The culture raft not only benefits from the creativity of the artists, but also from a new cultural funding guideline that has been in force in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania since 2023. With easier conditions for project funding of up to 50,000 euros, cultural workers have better conditions to implement their ideas. This helps ensure that projects like the Kulturfloß can become lively and accessible to everyone, whereby exhibition and participation fees can now also be included in the funding State government reported.
This not only brings culture to the waterways, but also sends a strong signal: the promotion of the cultural scene in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is flourishing, and projects like Elde Ahoi show what is possible when community spirit and creativity go hand in hand.
