The anticipation is increasing! The “Autumn of Castles” is celebrated in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania from October 25th to November 9th. With over 100 listed manor houses, castles and mansions, from the Baltic Sea to the Lake District, the region is the perfect location for culture lovers and connoisseurs.
In total, there are around 2,000 manor houses and castles in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, of which around 1,100 are listed buildings. This unique density of historical buildings makes the region a real hotspot for culture and history. The occasion for the big event is not only a feast for the eyes, but also offers an extensive program with something for every taste. You can expect concerts, exhibitions and creative workshops. The Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Association of Castles, Manors and Manor Houses organizes everything related to this special autumn of castles.
Culinary experiences and cultural highlights
A highlight of the opening ceremony on October 25th from 3 p.m. in the Hohen Luckow manor house will be a lecture by historian Sabine Bock on “The Baltic Manor House”, followed by a tour.
Visitors can also expect exciting culinary experiences: apple workshops and a traditional duck dinner can be enjoyed in the Landsdorf manor house. Humorous cooking courses with regional products await you at Schmarsow Castle and Gut Gremmelin. The Liepen moated castle offers manufactured products for tasting, while Rattey Castle offers wine from its own cultivation, which is already very popular.
