Wismar shipyard TKMS secures 800 million euros for submarine moderation!

The Wismar shipyard has drawn a large contract: Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) receives over 800 million euros for the modernization of six submarines from the German Navy. The company in Kiel has invested over 250 million euros in new manufacturing capacities since 2019. The head of corporate Oliver Burkhard has clear plans to expand the subsidiary in Wismar into a full submarine location. As soon as this plan is implemented, Wismar will surely be an important hub for the German Navy, since some of the new submarines are on schedule.
