Art for everyone: Telephone tours start in the Rostock Art Gallery!

A step into a more colorful cultural world: From July 7, 2025, the Rostock Art Gallery will enrich its offering with innovative telephone tours as part of “On Call Culture”. This initiative aims to make it easier for all people, regardless of disability, location or mobility, to access cultural experiences. Rostock town hall reports that the first telephone tour begins at 4 p.m. and deals with the topic “Usedomer Lights – The Artists' Island on the Baltic Sea”. An art education employee will accompany participants through the exhibition and describe the visual content on the phone.

To participate, you must register, which can be done online at www.beirufkultur.de or by telephone at 040 209 404 36. After receiving the access data, participants can log in from the comfort of their own home on the day of the event. This is a one-hour tour during which voice functions are disabled so questions can be asked at any time.

Cultural participation for everyone

The Kunsthalle Rostock has set itself a special mission: participation in art and culture should be possible for everyone. This is not only an innovative approach, but also a necessity. Access to art and culture should not be excluded for anyone, and this is particularly important at a time of growing sensitivity to inclusion and accessibility. According to information from Museum guide It is essential to break down physical and social barriers in order to enable everyone to actively participate in cultural offerings.

The new initiative focuses particularly on people who feel excluded from the local culture, for example due to a visual impairment or limited mobility. In addition, those people who have difficulty feeling comfortable in groups or are financially limited should also have the opportunity to take part in these tours.

Special events in the Kunsthalle

Another highlight in the Kunsthalle Rostock will be the event “Legends Night – Coach Legends of F.C. Hansa”, which will take place on July 16, 2025 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. This event will highlight the successes of the F.C. Hansa Rostock looked back, especially on promotion to the Bundesliga. Guests such as Frank Pagelsdorf, Andreas Zachhuber and Peter Vollmann have joined this social gathering, which will be moderated by Arvid Langschwager and Oliver Schubert. Unfortunately, the event is already sold out, but the fans are certainly looking forward to it, as are the preparations in the Kunsthalle for it.

With such a wide range of cultural events that emphasize both inclusion and memorable experiences, the Kunsthalle Rostock positions itself as a place where culture comes alive for everyone.
