Sunny July highlights: Free concerts in Warnemünde!

In summer, Warnemünde turns into a music paradise, and the popular “Meeresbrise” concert series is the main attraction. The events take place in the idyllic Kurhausgarten and offer an ideal setting for top-class live concerts. From July, music lovers can look forward to a selection of regional artists who will demonstrate their skills in a colorful repertoire from rock'n'roll to folk pop.

As the Rostock town hall reports, the concerts traditionally begin in May and last until the end of September. A total of 22 concerts are planned this year and, as in previous years, entry is completely free. This event has been established since its first performance and attracts thousands of guests annually. Last year around 15,000 people attended the concerts, which underlines the high popularity of the series. For the season opening on May 1st, the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Police Orchestra was on stage, conjuring up the first sounds in the air with its “Diamonds” program. So it's worth taking a look at the details of the concert series.

Highlights in July

July promises to be particularly exciting. On July 6th, the “Maritime Program” will be held as part of the 87th Warnemünde Week. The event begins at 12 p.m. with a dazzling start by the band Boom Drives Crazy, who will set the mood in rock'n'roll and soul style. From 4:30 p.m., students from the HMT Rostock pop department will show their talent.

A week later, on July 13th, HUMMING BEE will be on stage. This folk-pop trio is known for its acoustic warmth and spherical depth - a real treat for the ears! On July 20th, REITLER will bring the current EP “We are all tattooed” to the stage with “Disco Alemanija”. The crowning conclusion of the month is the trio BROTHER GRIMM on July 27th as part of the Buntes Meer Festival. Their sounds range between noise rock, indie and dark blues; a highlight that should not be missed.

Festival and community

The Buntes Meer Festival 2025 is all about diversity, inclusion and culture for everyone. With a diverse program of live music and workshops, the festival will not only appeal to the local community, but also attract visitors from across the region. The high importance of inclusion is reflected in every aspect of the festival, which aims to see itself as a platform for all artists and those interested in art.

“Meeresbrise” was originally launched to support the artistic scene during the pandemic, but has become a must in Warnemünde’s cultural calendar. In addition to the musical highlights, the relaxed atmosphere in the Kurhausgarten also ensures that every event becomes an experience. So if you haven't been there yet, you should take a close look at the dates and programs and perhaps take the opportunity to immerse yourself in the summer hustle and bustle.

Further information about the entire concert series can be found on the City of Rostock website. Pack your picnic blankets and enjoy an unforgettable summer in Warnemünde!
