In Dessau, the first gentlemen boxing under the direction of trainer Enrico Schnurre brought a breath of fresh air. Six men gathered, including former pugilists and newcomers, who share a common goal: It's not about competition, but about technique and fitness. Sirko from Raguhn, who is in his early 40s, primarily wants to learn boxing techniques without wanting to get into the ring. Reiner, who is curious about this sport and already has experience in various Asian martial arts, is also among the participants. Tobias, on the other hand, signed up to keep up with his daughter, who also boxes. The men are more interested in relaxed training without feeling the pressure of real competition, which Schnurre supports with an encouraging word: "It's never too late to start boxing!"

The training, which takes place once a week on Mondays, includes a wide range of exercises. Starting with the technical school through to sandbag work and targeted strength and endurance exercises. The participants are exhausted after the first session, but satisfied, which makes them feel good. Interestingly, the oldest participant, Jürgen in his 60s, had the courage to take part in this training despite health problems. Women who are interested in boxing also have the opportunity in Dessau: a separate kickboxing training group with around 30 participants ensures comprehensive involvement.
