In the early morning hours of November 12, 2025, there were several burglaries in Cologne, which put the police authorities on alert. Witnesses report an eerie calm that was suddenly disturbed by the sirens of emergency vehicles.

A particularly striking incident occurred on Südstrasse, where unknown perpetrators broke into a parked car. According to initial findings, they ransacked the vehicle and stole a jacket. It is currently unclear whether any other items are missing. The Saxony-Anhalt Police has already sent forensic science to the crime scene to secure evidence and begin the investigation.

Another destination: hairdressing salon and apartment building

Just a few hours later, a hairdressing salon on Reilstrasse was the victim of a break-in. Unknown perpetrators forced their way in and left devastation in their wake. Several basement rooms in an adjacent apartment building were also broken into. The amount of damage cannot yet be quantified because the investigation is still in its infancy. The criminal police have their hands full investigating the incidents thoroughly.

In addition to the local break-ins, the News.de a break-in into a single-family home in the neighboring town of Harderberg. Unknown perpetrators gained forced entry between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m., searched several rooms and stole jewelry and a watch. Here too, the extent of the damage is difficult to estimate and the police are calling for vigilance.

Such cases are increasing again and again in the region. Police encourage the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious sightings immediately. Particularly in connection with the incidents in Cologne, there remains concern that the perpetrators may continue to move around and strike again. The public is urged to keep their eyes and ears open and to keep an eye on their property.
