Dynamo Dresden's eagerly awaited season preparation is just around the corner! The SGD professionals will start training on Sunday, June 22, 2025. However, the players have the opportunity to test their fitness in advance with individual running sessions. The sports medical examinations have already taken place at the Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital in Dresden to ensure that all players are fit and ready for the challenges ahead LR Online reported.
However, not all faces will be visible at the start of training. Niklas Hauptmann has to take a break due to an operation on his stomach and hip area. The 28-year-old playmaker will not be able to train for the time being. Claudio Kammerknecht will also be missing as he is taking a short break after an international trip. Dennis Duah could possibly even go out on loan and won't be at the first training session either.
First test matches and training camps
The first test games have already been scheduled: On Friday, June 27th, 2025, the duel against FC Thüringen Weida is on the program, followed by another game against SV Unit Kamenz on Saturday, June 28th, 2025. These games are part of the intensive preparation for the coming season, like Dynamo Dresden notes. An outstanding highlight will be the training camp in Austria, which will take place in Windischgarsten from June 29th to July 6th, while the team is staying at “Dilly – The National Park Resort”. There is also a test match against SV Oberbank Ried on the program.
Another focus in the training camp is on the dress rehearsal. Dynamo will play against SV Guntamatic Ried on July 5th before returning to Dresden and further test matches are planned. Possible opponents include SK Slavia Prague in the Fortuna Arena in Prague on July 13th and the Volkswagen Cup on July 20th, 2025 in Zwickau, where Dynamo will face FSV Zwickau and VfL Wolfsburg.
Looking forward to the new season
The squad for the 2025/26 season has already been determined. With players like Tim Schreiber, Christoph Daferner and Stefan Kutschke, the SGD is optimistic about its preparations. The league will then start in the first weekend of August, with the exact schedule still to be announced by the German Football League The Saxons report.
