Christian Reichenbach new president of the Rotary Club Altenburg!
Christian Reichenbach took over the reins of the Rotary Club Altenburg on June 29, 2025. He succeeds Christian Halm, who successfully managed the club during his tenure. The ceremonial handover took place in the impressive Siebenschlehener Pochwerk Technical Museum in Schneeberg. In a nice move, 500 euros were donated to the museum's cultural support association on this occasion. ABG net reports that Reichenbach was born in Borna, is married and has two children. Professionally, he works as a physicist and patent attorney in the Altenburg legal landscape and has already gained a lot of experience in the development of physical measurement technology in the area of particle analysis.
Reichenbach's heartfelt concerns are primarily aimed at children and young people. He has also been an active member of the Rotary Club Altenburg since January 2021 and, at 44, is the youngest member. In addition to his full-time job, he also worked on the Oktoberfest organizing team. Planned activities for the coming months include a city rally on foot, a star campaign and of course the popular Oktoberfest. A special campaign is planned for the period from August 23rd to 30th: a charity bike tour to the Czech twin town of Zlín. The aim of this tour, which will take place in collaboration with the Lions Club Altenburg and the Aufbau Altenburg cycling club, is to collect kilometers for a good cause and to strengthen bridges of friendship. The proceeds of around 25,000 euros will be used to build a cycling course for children and young people in Altenburg.
A strong network
The Rotary Club Altenburg currently has 44 members. These come from a wide range of areas such as business, health, education, law and culture. This diverse network is an important part of the club as it brings together diverse perspectives and experiences. The Rotary Club Altenburg website also offers comprehensive information and communication options. Christian Halm is still listed there as a contact person and can be reached at Altenburg@rotary.de. Further details on data processing and user rights can also be found on the club website, which is in line with the requirements of the GDPR and ensures that personal data is protected.
The Rotary Club's commitment is not only remarkable in Altenburg. Rotary clubs across Germany also offer help for disadvantaged children under the motto “Holiday for Children”. Information and news about this can be found on the club's website, which once again provides an insight into the diverse activities of the members. By working with various associations and committed individuals, the aim is to make a lasting difference in the lives of young people. After all, working for the common good is at the heart of the Rotary spirit.
