Ambassador visit to Gotha: town twinning with Nessebar planned!

Today, November 3rd, 2025, the Mayor of Gotha, Knut Kreuch, welcomed a very special guest. The Bulgarian Ambassador to Germany, H.E. Grigor Kalinov Porozhanov, was with his tourism attaché Dr. Tihomir Patarinski came to the city to discuss joint steps towards a town twinning between Gotha and the Bulgarian coastal town of Nessebar. How Gotha Current reported, the talks were characterized by an exchange about cooperation between Germany and Bulgaria. This partnership is intended to strengthen cultural relations between the two cities and provide development impetus.

During the visit, Kreuch asked the ambassador for an entry in the city's Golden Book. A joint visit to the Gotha State Archives aroused the interest of everyone present when historical documents relating to Bulgaria were presented. These little journeys through time not only create memories, but also promote understanding for each other.

Also part of the program was a citizen information event, at which Ambassador Porozhanov provided information about current developments in Bulgaria and German-Bulgarian relations. The city councilors Tobias Meisel and Christiane Kullmann reported on their first trip to Nessebar and showed impressive photographic impressions that impressively captured the beauty of the Bulgarian coast.

Another exciting point of the exchange was the announcement by Dr. Patarinski said that the flight offering to Nessebar will be improved in the near future. This could make the connection more attractive and create interesting opportunities for future joint projects.
