Help dog Apollo: Why this loyal companion is looking for a home!

in the city of Nordhausen, Thuringia, a very special dog is waiting for a new home: Apollo, a dogo Canario-Rideback mixed, which has lived in the shelter for over three years. Despite its appealing appearance, the charming male has so far found no space for itself, which drives the animal keepers in the shelter. "Why does nobody want to adopt him?" Ask yourself while trying tirelessly to convey the four -legged friend in a loving home. Apollo was presented, among other things, on the TV show "The Sudden" by Martin Rütter, but even this platform did not bring the desired success.

Last May 28th, Apollo was also presented on the MDR program "Animal Animal", but unfortunately there were no inquiries from the animal managers. "We continue to hope for people who are willing to give a dog from animal welfare a chance," said the shelter. Meanwhile, Apollo has developed splendidly and is now a pleasant companion who gets along well with the nurses. Interested parties should contact the Nordhausen animal shelter on 03631/900101 to learn more about Apollo.

The story of Xena

But not only Apollo is looking for a home. Xena, a two -year -old Kangal, has also been waiting for the right people in the shelter since April 2024. Xena comes from a securing and has already successfully completed a roller lider operation. Her behavior is typical of her breed: she is open -minded and friendly towards women, but has more critical views of some men.

For your new home, it is important that no other dogs live there because Xena does not get along well with other animals. Cats and small animals should also not be part of their new family, and children should be a bit older so that the transition becomes harmonious for everyone involved. The shelter wants people who have experience with herd protection dogs for Xena. Interested parties can contact the animal shelter team at 03631 900101.

The situation in the shelter is tense. With a variety of dogs, other animals are also dependent on a new home. The zookeepers act quickly and do everything possible to enable these loved ones to make a new life. Fortunately, interest in adoption of dogs from animal welfare is increasing, but the search for a suitable home often remains lengthy and challenging.

If you think about giving a dog a new home, you should also look at platforms such as Hundreding Europe to learn more about the adoptors in the region.

Hope lives on - both for Apollo as well as for Xena and many of her animal friends in the shelter. Can you imagine becoming part of your story?
