Road Safety Day in Pirschheide: Travel safely together!
On June 17, 2025, an exciting road safety day will take place in Pirschheide that is aimed at all generations. Under the motto “Mobility for all generations”, the event aims to raise awareness of road safety and promote shared responsibility. Councilor Brigitte Meier also emphasized this. The event location, the traffic police area, Am Bahnhof Pirschheide 7, offers the perfect setting for such a project.
Visitors can expect a variety of offers that invite them to take part. Reaction and vision tests can be completed to ensure that all road users are fit for the road. There is also a particular focus on e-bike test rides, which enable participants to familiarize themselves with modern mobility. These offer attractive electronic pedal assistance that reaches up to 25 km/h, as hundred percent BGHW describes. A walking course will also be set up for people with limited mobility, which shows how important accessibility is in transport.
Information and security in focus
Another highlight of the day is training on how to get on and off buses safely. This process is often associated with uncertainty, especially for older people and children. The coding of bicycles to protect against theft aims to increase road safety, which is also in line with the objective of “Vision Zero”. This program, supported by the Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport, has the goal of having no deaths or serious injuries in road traffic, as can be found on the Mobility Forum website.
In addition, the police and the public order office will hold presentations in which technical aids such as speed cameras and turning assistance systems will be presented. These modern technologies contribute to increasing traffic safety, which is also a central requirement of traffic safety work. A bicycle safety check by the ADAC completes the offer.
The event is supported by numerous partners, including the police, fire brigade, the public order office, the ViP transport company as well as the Kniesche medical supply store and numerous volunteers who are committed to making the day a success. Admission is free and registration is not required, meaning participation on this important day is open to everyone. The Road Safety Day in Pirschheide not only offers information and practical tips, but also promotes cooperation between all generations in road traffic. Everyone can learn and contribute something here – as the saying goes, there is something to be said!
