Youth fire brigades from Treptow shine at the state championship in Ticino!
At the national championships of the youth fire brigades in the "Open Waters" category, a lively hustle and bustle in Ticino was observed last weekend. Four teams from the Treptower Tollensewinkel took part in this top -class competition, including Altentreptow, Golchen, Wildberg and the Teetzleben/Pinnow team. The young firefighters arrived in the joint coach, which was made available by the district defense management and the Mecklenburg Lake District. Youth keeper Sven Hoff from the Altentreptow fire brigade was grateful for the extensive support that enabled young people an unforgettable experience.
The atmosphere during the journey was already a sign of cohesion among the young people, which was celebrated while arriving in Ticino. The Golchener were all the more disappointed with their 23rd place among a total of 31 participating teams. Military leader René Reinhardt critically commented on the competition judge decisions and emphasized that the performance of the Golchen youth departments was usually equivalent with the best teams. So the disappointment about the result was great among the young firefighters, even if the experiences and the team spirit counted.
Excellent services of the other teams
The Altentreptower young people, who had qualified as district champions of the Mecklenburg Lake District, took the 15th place with a lot of effort and despite a illness in the team. Youth keeper Sven Hoff proudly speaks of the achievements of his protégés, who, even if they made small mistakes, show a lot of potential. The two teams from Tetetzleben and Pinnow met and reached the 23rd place, while the Wildberg young people achieved the best result from the office with the 14th place. The official youth leader and deputy military leader of the Wildberg fire brigade praised his team for their balanced appearance and the low mistakes.
a challenging competition
The “Open Waters” competition is one of the most demanding for youth brigades. Participation in this event is viewed as a great performance that not only gives young people the opportunity to demonstrate their skills, but also promote team spirit and camaraderie. In addition to regional competitions, there are also federal competitions that can be equated with the German championship at the federal level. These are important highlights in the annual cycle of the German Youth Fire Brigade. At these events, dozens of teams from all over Germany compete and fight for the qualification for international competitions that offer teams the opportunity to shine on an even larger stage.
The youth work in the fire brigade is not only an important part of fire protection monitoring, but also a place where young people can gain valuable experience and develop skills. So it will be interesting to see what other challenges and successes the young people will expect in the future. As the Altentreptow fire brigade shows, the way is the goal - and comradely support is priceless.
