After four years in Kirchweyhe, the popular Café Kinderwagen is moving to the Kita Jahnstraße in Leeste. The last day at the old location is July 2, 2025, and the new contact point opens its doors on August 20, 2025. This initiative is particularly important for mothers and fathers with children in their first year of life and was supported by the municipality of Weyhe and the Diepholz district. As the District newspaper reports, the concept of the café, which was launched in 2021, has become well established in recent years.

In the Kinderwagen Café, new parents not only have the opportunity to exchange ideas, but also receive professional support from a family midwife and a teacher. Activities include singing and playing in a child-friendly environment. The family midwife Inga Stoffel also brings materials and small toys to promote motor skills. The aim of the project is to offer parents support and guidance so that they can better master their new challenges.

Strong support and unchanged concept

The move to Leeste is subject to the condition that the proven concept is continued. Maurice Weiß, the manager of the café, announces that there will be an evaluation after six months. The previous meetings took place in the crèche children's house in Kirchweyhe, but now the café will be housed in the new daycare building. There is close cooperation with the family midwife team and the early help network in the district, which also contributes to the quality of the offer.

Particularly worth mentioning is the fact that participation is free for anyone interested, although places are limited to nine children and a total of 18 people (including parents) per meeting. Registration takes place the same morning by telephone via Kita Jahnstraße on 0421/892648. This is a clear advantage for families, who are often in a new life situation and need valuable support.
