Unusual accidents and break-ins: Police report incidents in Pirna!

On June 20, 2025, the police in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district are dealing with a series of incidents in the area. While traffic activity does not calm down, other cases of crime are also increasing.

A serious accident occurred this morning in Dürrröhrsdorf-Dittersbach when a 17-year-old moped driver was seriously injured in a collision with an Iveco bus. The material damage amounts to around 4,000 euros. Accident statistics show that thousands of people in the EU lose their lives or are seriously injured in road accidents every year. Sweden's roads are considered the safest, while Romania has the highest rate europarl.europa.eu reported.

Everyday traffic actions

In another traffic report, an 18-year-old cyclist hit a car that was braking, causing damage of around 500 euros, but no injuries. Today there was another collision in Pirna between a VW Golf and a Mercedes B-Class, in which a 20-year-old woman was slightly injured. The material damage here amounts to around 10,000 euros.

In Langburkersdorf there was a parking accident with an 84-year-old driver who hit a parked VW vehicle with her Skoda - the damage here amounts to around 5,500 euros. In addition, a 37-year-old cyclist in Pirna was caught driving with a blood alcohol level of more than 3 per mille, while a 15-year-old was driving an e-scooter without insurance. Such incidents highlight the growing problem of road safety in the region.

power of crime

Crime was also an issue in Pirna today, where unknown people broke into a cellar on Gartenstrasse and stole tools and other items worth around 1,000 euros. An attempted break-in into an apartment fortunately ended with no loot, but the perpetrator caused property damage of around 600 euros by damaging the door lock.

In Bad Schandau, two high-quality bicycles worth around 5,000 euros were stolen, while in Dippoldiswalde two cars were vandalized. In one case, the window of a VW was damaged, resulting in damage of around 500 euros. Fortunately, there were no further collapses or damage with serious consequences.

Police operations and requests

In Freital-Zauckerode, two drivers were checked, and while the 46-year-old was caught with an alcohol level of 0.7 per mille, a 15-year-old was driving without insurance. Such controls are important to ensure safety on the roads.

Finally, the police are asking for citizens' help: A call for witnesses was made after the fall of a 25-year-old cyclist in Maxen and after the incident with a damaged parked VW Caddy in Freital-Hainsberg. Information from the population is important to improve security in the region.

It is to be hoped that both road safety and crime rates in the region can be improved in the future. A good knack for driving cautiously on the road and paying attention to your neighborhood are essential.
