An exciting weekend is just around the corner in Halle (Saale) and the surrounding area. A colorful program starts on Saturday, October 11, 2025, offering both cultural and sporting highlights. What stands out among the events is the 5th castle festival at the foot of Wettin Castle, which causes excitement with exciting knight fights and a diverse family program. How dubisthalle.de reported, the festival will take place on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Wettin Castle, known as the ancestral home of the Wettin dynasty, offers the perfect backdrop for these festivities. Visitors can look forward to a large army camp of knights, handicrafts and entertainment by jugglers and musicians. While parents enjoy the festival with a cool drink, the little ones can do crafts, juggle or take part in story time in the children's program. There is also a hand-operated historical children's carousel. If you like sport, you can try archery or try out games of skill.
Diverse supporting program
But that's not all: On Saturday the day starts early with a colorful flea market at the Mallikids in the Handel Gallery from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. as well as a fruit exhibition with Ralph Frankenstein in the DRK clothing store. In the evening, an Irish folk concert and an impressive performance by fire artists are on the program. At 6 p.m. the Oktoberfest will also be celebrated at Pappel-Beach in Teutschenthal, before the day ends with an 80s/90s/2000s party at the Drushba club.
The cultural highlights continue on Sunday. The Central German Marathon starts at 9:00 a.m. on the Halle market. For fans of classical music, there will be the 2nd symphony concert by the Staatskapelle Halle in the Handel Hall at 11:00 a.m., while the marble game day will take place at the same time in the city museum. Later, the castle festival will once again become a meeting place for families and fairytale lovers, and there will also be a flea market in Chicken Manhattan.
