Free autumn activities for children in Halle: Register now!

Autumn time is craft time! The Maltese Youth Hall will start its free group lessons for children between 8 and 12 years old on October 21, 2025. The creative sessions take place on Tuesdays from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Malteser Jugend group room in the Halle Tower and offer the children the opportunity to try out their skills and make new friends.

The varied topics of the group lessons have already been determined. On October 21st, the little ones can create mandalas from natural materials, followed by a Halloween special on October 28th where they make spooky wall lights. An exciting paper boat race is also on the program on November 4th, followed by games of skill on November 11th. No special previous knowledge is required and prior registration is desirable, but not absolutely necessary. If you would like to take part, you can send an email to jugend.halle@malteser.org or register by phone on +49 (0) 1511 587 34 84.

Commitment and volunteerism

But it's not just the children who are in demand, the Malteser Youth Hall is also looking for committed, adult volunteers who would like to set up their own youth group. These volunteers can use their skills to shape the group lessons, be it crafting, singing or playing. The weekly meetings last between 60 and 90 minutes and also take place on Tuesdays at the same time. Volunteering is particularly valued when working with children and young people. Previous experience is welcome, but not mandatory. The Maltese provide the necessary support and materials for the activities.

A look outside the box shows that engagement with children and young people is an issue everywhere. The Johanniter For example, we are also looking for volunteers to organize leisure activities and group lessons. Young people need spaces to develop their talents, and organizations like Malteser and Johanniter make a valuable contribution to the community.

These days, such offers are more in demand than ever. Volunteers with a good knack for working with children and young people not only provide valuable support, but also benefit from the positive experiences and the community that is created. The next steps are clear: whether you are a child implementing new creative ideas or a committed individual contributing your time and talents - everyone can contribute their part to a vibrant community.

Take advantage of this opportunity to get involved and register – there is a lot to discover and learn!
